Why do you love BBBS?
I love BBBS because it’s all about empowering young people to reach their full potential! Growing up, I experienced the power of having someone in my corner and know that was a driving force of who I’ve become today, and I believe all kids deserve that. Nurturing potential leads to positive outcomes for youth, families, and communities — I’m excited to be able to play a part in that!
What is your favorite quote and why?
“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” – Theodore Roosevelt
This has always been a good reminder in my life to believe in myself. The script we tell ourselves matters because our beliefs and attitudes shape our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Every failure (and I’ve had many!) is an opportunity for growth and practice in getting back up and trying again. If we approach life, especially challenges with this mindset – that we believe we can do it, we will!
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
I would like to have “Super Learning” so I can absorb knowledge at super speed, like instantly. I’m naturally a curious person so it would be amazing to feed that curiosity. This would really come in handy in a pinch. You never know when you may need to execute an emergency landing or star on Jeopardy!
