Little Readiness Checklist

We are mindful of the time and energy it takes to complete the enrollment process. We want to help ensure best fit, as well as the safety and well-being of our Littles and Bigs.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Little with big brothers big sisters

To help determine if participating for our program is a good fit for your child, please review the checklist below before moving on to the next steps of the enrollment process.

My child is between the ages of 6 and 14.

I am comfortable with my child being away from me for 2-3 hours at a time.

My child is able to take care of personal needs such as toileting, dressing, feeding themselves, etc. without assistance.

My child accepts direction from adults regarding safety instructions (i.e., wearing a seat belt; not running away; keeping hands to themselves, etc).

My child is able to establish meaningful connections with others.

I agree to regular monthly phone calls from the BBBS staff and am easily accessible by telephone.

I agree to complete surveys when assigned by BBBS staff.

I am willing to wait as long as it takes for the agency to find the best Big for my child.

I have talked with my child about getting a Big and what the program entails.

My child is excited about getting a Big and spending time with them on a regular basis.
