Who were your mentors growing up? Beyond my loving family, I had a few champs in my corner and owe them a lot for helping me to grow into the person I am today. First, leaders at the YMCA kept me busy and instilled in me a love for building my community. My high school choir teacher was another. Finally, I have to credit the parents of my friends in high school and college. Knowing I was seen and valued helped me remain optimistic during times of critical development, leading me to getting my college degree in Youth Leadership.
What makes Idaho your home? Well, being born here gave me a good start. Additionally, and after moving to Utah and Santiago, Chile for a time, I “came home” to marry a Boise native and we’ve raised our three kids in the same neighborhood where I grew up. A very considerable percentage of my life has been spent at Camel’s Back Park.
Why do you love BBBS? One-to-one mentoring solves problems where the world needs solutions. I’m happy to play a part in getting the work done.
