June Match Activity
The weather is improving and it's time to start planning ahead for our summer activities! Pencil in June 12th for a caving trip sponsored by the Gem State Grotto and the BLM to caves near Shoshone. Experienced cavers will explain the geologic, volcanic, and historical background in these lava tube caves and the surrounding area. Matches will have an opportunity to explore the caves and the desert. This will be an all day activity with matches leaving Boise at 7:30 am and returning at approximately 5:30 pm. Matches will need to be signed up by Friday May 28th in order to take advantage of this great opportunity.
Here are a few things you will want to bring for you and your Little:
- $5 per person for lunch
- A helmet and head lamp or flashlight
- Extra batteries for the headlamp/flashlight
- Gloves (gardening gloves will work well)
- Sunscreen and a hat for sun protection
- Water
- Layers of clothing (it will be hot in the desert and about 50 degrees in the caves, so plan accordingly)
- Pants that can get dirty
More information for this event will be provided in the coming months. The number of matches that can attend this event is limited so make sure to contact your Match Support Specialist early to get on the sign up sheet for this fun outdoor activity!
